REPORT: FEBRUARY 16, 2015
With the warmer water
temperatures, the bite has been good in the
mid-afternoon. Using Berkley Gulp under a poppin' cork,
drifting over mud and shale, we have been catching
trout, drum, and reds. There have been good days and bad
days. However, as we get into the warmer conditions,
toward the end of the month and first of March, the bite
should improve. I will be attending the Houston fishing
show at the end of the month and hope to see you there.
We will be in the Coastal Bend guide booth throughout
the weekend. Come by the booth at your convenience.
Beginning to book for spring break trips and into March.
If you want to book a trip, days are filling up so give
me a call.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Captain Jeff Sims is a one of a kind, outdoors professional
who is knowledgeable in many areas: fishing, hunting, birding
and nature, boating and coastal conservation. His grandfather
and father were both avid fisherman of the Coastal Bend and
they taught him well. As a boy, Capt. Jeff would set-off
with his family to Ayers Dugout - a place between Mesquite and
San Antonio Bayou (Northwest of Cedar Bayou) for the best
fishing and fun around! And once you meet him, you'll be
impressed by his passion for everything
"outdoors"...his enthusiasm is contagious!
"We'll fish from San Antonio Bay to the Upper Laguna Madre and
Corpus Christi Bay to Port O'Connor
along the Texas Central Gulf Coast!"
Capt. Sims is a much-loved father, husband and son who
absolutely loves to show children how to catch fish! He
uses patience, stories and humor to make sure even the
youngest angler has a memorable time. When fishing with
clients of a moderate to experienced level, he knows where the
fish are and puts you right they are in no time. You'll
be so glad you selected Capt. Sims as your guide.

but often he'll use live and dead baits as well.
Wade fishing and Drift fishing are also techniques commonly
used for a successful day on the water!
course most fishing captains are also well-versed in duck
hunting and Capt. Sims is a seasoned hunter as well. Ask him about his popular "Cast & Blast" package
that gives serious hunters and anglers the best of both worlds
- hunt duck in the morn and fish the afternoon away!
